News | Unitt enjoying fresh challenge
After making 102 appearances for England, Rachel Unitt speaks after joining London Bees
We caught up with Lionesses great and recent arrival to The Hive Rachel Unitt on how she has settled in at London Bees.
"I've settled in alright, the girls and staff have been lovely and very welcoming. I've enjoyed my time here so far, it's nice to be playing again and be part of that team environment.
Unitt more than played her part as she helped keep a clean sheet in the Bees 2-0 win over Sheffield United Women and she is looking to build on that on the run up to the festive fixtures.
"Hopefully the result against Sheffield will be a turning point for us and we can keep that momentum going and get a few points under our belt going into the Christmas break.
"I witnessed a few games previous to signing and I think Bees have been unlucky, it was just that last little bit of final third play and an end product that was lacking.
"The Hive is a tough ground to come to, I think most teams are strong at home. The surface is an advantage for us being a team that likes to play football.
London Bees next head to Aston Villa on Saturday evening and Unitt is hoping we can start to string a good run of results together.
"We will look at the way Villa play, how we will defend against them and how we will break them down to get a result.
"I'm hoping this will be the beginning of a good run of results; we have 3 league games over the next few weeks, it would be great to see us shift up the table."
